As part of her learning journey, Ellie also attended a weekly work placement at Floral Designs by C Z Handsaker in Birmingham, where she was able to apply her skills in a real-world setting. Impressively, Ellie showed great independence by driving herself to and from the placement each week, demonstrating her commitment, responsibility, and readiness for the workplace.

Her time on placement gave her invaluable hands-on experience with customer service, shop presentation, and bespoke floral arrangement work, further fuelling her enthusiasm for the industry.

A major highlight of Ellie’s year came when she competed in a floristry competition, where she created an enchanting Harry Potter-themed centrepiece. Her work captured the imagination of the judges and earned her the runner-up position, with praise for her originality, attention to theme, and artistic execution.

Ellie completed her course with flying colours, gaining not only her qualification but also a deep sense of pride in how far she had come. She is now exploring the next steps in her floristry career, including further training and potential employment opportunities in the floral retail sector.

Ellie’s journey is a powerful example of what can be achieved through determination, creativity, and the right support. She continues to grow as a young professional, with a bright and beautifully blossoming future ahead.
